You Saved Your Family’s Lives… Now What?
I came into the offices this week and started talking with Tim about some of the hotter button issues as I have seen them and he asked me to write it out for you.
I have to say, one of the biggest issues that I have seen over the past few months has been when someone shoots another person in self defense.
I know that as patriots, we all exercise our Second Amendment rights to own guns… and I think it’s important that we do so.
The problem comes in when we actually use them. There are a lot of people out there who think that it’s wrong to shoot another person EVEN in self defense… sadly, those people are in the government and criminal justice system. Even though it is YOUR RIGHT to protect yourself from home invasion and criminals who are trying to harm you, YOU will become the one in the wrong in many people’s eyes when you do so.
I can’t believe that it’s like that. Let me tell you… a lot of you already know that I travel the world regularly. I see everything, whether it’s good or bad, and I deal with characters that well… let’s just say you wouldn’t want to deal with. One of the main differences between many cultures and ours is that when someone breaks into your house in… let’s say the Middle East… you can shoot and kill that person. And guess what happens from there? Nothing. It was your right to protect your home, family, and property and the culture there accepts that. In America, even with the freedoms and liberties we have, it’s looked down upon.
I think a lot of you will recall the story of a Texas man who killed his neighbor while protecting his family a few months back. Here’s a regular guy who was throwing a barbecue at his house; he walks in to the house from the backyard and sees one of the most horrifying things you could ever see… his neighbor was molesting his daughter. Disgusting right? So what does he do? As a father, he acted on his instincts and beat the man to death.
Now both you and I know that if we saw someone doing something disgusting like that, we would automatically do the same thing. How did the police and authorities react? They had to investigate and ACTUALLY considered pressing charges against the man for PROTECTING HIS OWN FAMILY. And that was with his bare hands.
In Minnesota, there was a different case. There was a 71-year-old man who was sitting at an internet cafe and a group of thugs came in to attempt to rob the place. I think Tim actually brought this story up before in Absolute Rights… but these thugs, they rush the place with a gun and a bag to collect valuables and what does that man do? He springs out of his seat like a hero with his properly licensed gun and shoots the would be burglars. The man is a hero… but how was he treated?
He was investigated and again, the authorities considered taking his guns away and potentially putting him in jail.
In America today, you are given a fake right to protect yourself. See, people who stand up for their property or families in the heat of the moment aren’t wrong… and I argue that anyone would do the same thing that they are… but they are immediately put into the legal system where they have to defend their rights to defend themselves… and that can get ridiculous.
You can be brought up on multiple charges for defending yourself properly in America today… something I’m willing to bet the founding fathers never expected would happen.
As soon as the heat of the moment is over and the smoke clears, these good people are put on trial.
What would you do if you were in that situation?
How would you deal with it?
I know that you can’t just defend yourself. Can you imagine what would happen if you went in to a courtroom against attorneys, a judge and police who may or may not support your Second Amendment rights? You could be in a pile of trouble in a hurry.
I have a couple of good friends who put together a program to help you out if you ever find yourself in that situation.
Peyton Quinn is one of these good guys. Now he’s not a fancy lawyer or someone who works for the system. He’s just a normal patriotic American. He’s a Vietnam Vet, a biker, and a bouncer… basically someone who has stared down trouble, taken care of it, then had to defend himself many times for doing WHAT WAS RIGHT!
He knows that there are other people out there just like him, so he put together a program called ‘Bulletproof Legal Defense.’ Now I know what you’re saying to yourself… this will NEVER happen to me…
Well, I bet that 71-year old who took out those idiots who tried to rob him said that too. He had probably carried that gun with him his entire life, then finally, years after getting it, legally used it to protect himself…. and just as quickly as he fired that gun, he found himself having to defend himself.
I just don’t want you all to be caught off guard. I want you all to be safe at home and after you protect yourself.
You should check out his program here… because if you don’t, you could very well find yourself stuck in prison for just protecting yourself.
