Obama: the GI Bill is Like Food Stamps

, / 1522

Barry O. just can’t seem to catch a break these days…he was bested by Bill O’Reilly during the Super Bowl interview, and now he’s getting blasted by the men and women who selflessly serve our country.

During the interview Obama avoids answering anything directly but he doesn’t need to. It’s already clear that the welfare state has massively expanded, with benefits continually being extended to people who aren’t willing to lift a finger to improve their station in life. The nanny state has crashed and burned – in 2013 a record 20% of US households received food stamps, up from 14% in 2009. At least the numbers don’t lie.

But then, Obama went on to equate the GI bill with welfare. Yes, you read that right. According to Obama, giving financial aid to our nation’s heroes is the same thing as handing out food stamps to immigrants and crackheads.

Scott Taylor, a Navy Seal, Harvard graduate and VA state delegate responded to the comments during a Fox News interview:

It’s quite offensive certainly to the millions of veterans out there…but using the GI bill as a scapegoat and trying to compare that to welfare or food stamps…you’re talking about an earned entitlement that folks have earned in blood. Many have sacrificed their youth, and buried their brothers and sisters who have signed on the dotted for this contract to be able to use this GI bill so that when they come back they can get educated and become contributing members of society. Thats not welfare. Thats an earned contractual entitlement.”

  • Richard J. Medicus says:

Since the creature that dwells in the WH doesn't believe it should honor its' contractual obligations: We can look forward to the military "welfare" program being shut down by executive order.

  • Ivan Cunningham says:

LMAO! I don't know what Super Bowl interview YOU were watching, but O'Reilly got his ass handed to him and sounded like a broken record of some petulant child who refuses to accept reality. I'm not a fan of Obama or Democrats, necessarily- but not a fan of the increasingly uneducated and out-of-touch Republicans or (the even-more-so) teabaggers either...
