Like many people, I was fascinated by the movie the Matrix. I can still remember watching it in the theatre and marveling at the story. There is one point in the movie that struck a chord with me and the reason is that I believe, to some extent, what the Agent Smith had to say to Morpheus about the human race.
I would like to share that quote with you. I must preface however, that my regard for this quote is not for the contempt of the human race in general, but rather my disdain for liberals which I will explain later. The quote from Agent Smith states:
I’d like to share a revelation that I’ve had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you’re not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You’re a plague and we are the cure.
John Stossel this week is airing a program on the Fox Business Channel titled Texas vs. California. He states that he will show how California once was the place everyone wanted to be – including the Hillbillies from Arkansas. The state’s population growth outpaced the national average for much of its history, until 1990. Stossel says that “Last decade, 2 million more Americans moved out of California than moved in.” and that “[t]hey moved to states like Texas.”
I have long believed that today’s liberals, and liberalism, are a cancer. They invade an area and push for larger government with more services which requires higher taxes. Higher taxes lead to less money in the private sector which leads to less employment and less consumer activities. These things lead to less revenue to the government so they have to offer more services like unemployment insurance, education training, etc. it is a vicious cycle that many people seek to leave. So, where do they go? They go to places like Texas where the business climate allows for more prosperity and job growth and creation. The only problem is that these people moving from California bring with them their liberal ideas of big government. They don’t leave those ideas behind, and they certainly don’t forget how to vote. This is how they are like a cancer. Once metastasized, the cancer is free to move all over the body and create cancer cells in those new places. The more people leave places like California in search of refuge in places like Texas, the more they will spread their unhealthy ideas. If we cannot rehabilitate these people upon arrival then the notion of Conservatism, freedom, and liberty will become a thing of the past.
Just like cancer eventually destroys all healthy tissue and kills the host by consuming vital resources, so liberals will travel from state to state, and country to country, leaving in their wake dead economies. The world is abounding with economies on life support, like Greece, California, and New York; as well as, with the corpses of consumed economies like the Former Soviet Union, Cuba, and North Korea. Unfortunately, the world is also rife with once healthy economies that have turned ill like the United Kingdom, Germany, Nevada, and Arizona. They have now turned their sites on the most healthy, like Texas and Florida, in order to keep the cancer thriving.
